March 2005
At the VIII Moscow International Industrial Property Show the IMC was awarded a Gold Medal for the method of enclosing a thin anatomical specimen in a clear media. This is the second gold medal won by the IMC for inventions in polymeric embalming.
The method of enclosing thin slides in transparent resin enables the viewer to discern very small anatomical structures. The Competition Jury made a note of wide perspectives for its clinical use due to identity of transparent slides and NMR images.
June 2005
The IMC's international cooperation enables it to expand the scope of polymers which advances plastination techniques. Dr. Corcoran, President of "Corcoran Laboratories", the USA, visited the IMC in June, 2005 and appreciated its developments and the invention of polymeric embalming.
In the course of negotiations the IMC tested and purchased silicones produced by Dow Corning Company which reduce the curing time of the specimen to three days and allow avoiding freezing.
September 2005
To conduct mutual research in stereotopometry of nerves and vessels together with the Chair of Surgical Anatomy and Demonstrative Surgery of the Military Medical Academy, the IMC has developed the production of a series of transparent slides of lower extremities' segments with embedded coordinates. This method allows getting precise and objective data on the position of fascicles of nerves and vessels and fascial cases in three-dimensional space. The findings provide appropriate choice of operative accesses during surgical operations on lower extremities.
